Profile Information

I've been reading since I taught myself when I was four and that is also when I realized I wanted to be a writer. It was only in the last year, though, that I've really had a chance to find my voice. I took a few years of English Literature studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and found that I did no writing but what they told me… and nothing was ever creative. This was not who I wanted to be and I decided that I had had enough. I tried to start a career in the mortgage business (thinking that money is what is important after I got married) and learned something about myself... I have no business being in business. My husband has a successful job and his biggest gift to me has been to let me quit that job and stay home. That was almost a year ago. Since then I have been the happiest person I could ever be. My husband, family, friends, neighbors and even the mailman can see that I am finally doing what I was meant to do. I wake up every morning and get on my computer and my husband has to physically drag me to bed every night. I've discovered voices in my head I never imagined and they are all clambering to get out. My fingers can't travel over the keyboard fast enough. All I have ever wanted was to write, and now all I want is to have people read what I've written. Of course, I dream of being published someday (who doesn't?), but I don't write just to be published... but also to be read. Finding this site is so exciting! I want to learn as much as possible from as many other readers and writers as possible and I want complete honesty.
