Whatrocks Profile

Before becoming a lawyer, some twenty years ago, I wrote several (unpublished) novels while I toughed-out the late 70's early 80's recession in a series of low-paying jobs that included a stint with the Peace Corps in the Congo and working as a low-level staffer for a Democratic Congressman. When the first of my children came along, I stopped writing altogether as I gradually discovered the emotional pay-off per/hour for being an active Dad was a whole lot higher than for being an unpublished novelist. I'm still an active Dad. But a few years ago on a family vacation I got the itch to write again; so I scratched it. That out-of-retirement effort and others appeared or are forthcoming in South Dakota Review, Whiskey Island Review, The Distillery, The Underwood Review, Phantasmagoria and The Santa Clara Review.
