I was a professor at three major universities before becoming a a turn-around specialist for an investment banking firm. Currently I write full time. I became interest in writing historical fiction set in the American southwest while teaching at the University of New Mexico. Most people, including New Mexicans, do not know the true history of the state. My debut novel, Sangre de Cristo: The Blood of Christ is a coming-of-age story set against the slave trade in Indians promoted by the Church. My second novel, due to be released in the fall of 2015 deals with peonage, Crypto-Jews (Hispanic Jews who pretended to be Catholic), and Penitentes, a secret religious sect.
