A dedicated writer seeking to improve my craft and to build a strong community, I am working toward a professional career in writing with a passionate interest in work that explores the deep need to sacrifice/dedicate oneself to a variety of media in an attempt to fill deep spiritual and emotional longings that are difficult to find support for outside of a religious context.  Speculative fiction, science fiction, and fantasy tend to describe what I enjoy and write, but I am open to any work that seeks an honest portrayal/exploration of the experience of being human.  

When not writing, I enjoy teaching science, hiking in the great outdoors, and playing Appalachian Fiddle in an Old Tyme string band.

I very much look forward to meeting many wonderful writers in this community, to reading your work, and to enjoying honest and open discussions about craft and life.
