Dad was in the British Army so I grew up in Germany and spent my childhood hearing tales from foreign lands. Childhood gave me a taste for travel and a thirst for the knowledge of 'otherness' through foreign language, culture and custom. So I speak a number of languages to varying degrees of ineptitude, from Chinese and Thai to French and Italian. My career has seen me working overseas on a regular basis. I now live in London's leafy outer ring with my wife and newly born son. My writing tends to be lighthearted - I spend too much time in my day job being serious after all. And I always try to weave in a strong moral thread, which picks up on my faith as a Christian.
