Shirley Peek Graham Profile

My name is Shirley and I was born in 1955. I love the Lord and love to write about seeing His hand in life circumstances. I was divorced twice before marrying Paul, the love of my life, in 1992. He lost a two year fight with melanoma and went to sing in the Celestial Choir September 2003. I have seven children, three boys and four girls, born from 1979-1995. I cut hair for many years, went to Midland's Technical College at age 35 and won a creative writing contest while studying there. I tranferred to The University Of South Carolina, choosing to major in English Literature. When my husband and I became pregnant with twin girls I left academia in my fifth month (which coincided with both the end of Spring quarter and an inability to fit my girth between the seat and writing surface of my desk). So far, my children have blessed me with two grandsons and one grand daughter, all adorable and full of light! I sing soprano in the choir at my church. This is my first time participating in a writer's website of this type and I look forward to making new friendships with writers and entering contests. I close, wishing all of us well!
