I recently completed a fast, fun YA Adventure/Mystery/Romance novel titled "Monster Hunter". Here's my elevator pitch!
For adventure junkie Samantha Hyde, every day is Halloween. With a Crypto-zoologist for a father (a scientist that searches for proof of creatures such as Bigfoot, werewolves and ghosts) and a mother who is daughter to fabulously wealthy Constance Alden, life is weird but good.
Until that night. With her father behind the wheel, a car accident claims the lives of her mother and the parents of her best friend MG. Constance Alden vows revenge and uses her influence to sway the court’s final judgment: anyone who believes, TRULY believes in monsters is mentally unstable and therefore unfit to be a father. Samantha is ordered removed from her father’s custody. Permanently.
But instead of turning themselves in to the authorities, Samantha, her father and MG start to run. Constance Alden sends a ruthless bounty hunter to bring Samantha back at all costs. For Samantha, her father and MG their only hope is to disappear into the shadow world of Crypto-zoology and find proof of a real live monster… before a monster finds them.
It's a great fun read!
