MaryKH Profile

I grew up on the shores of the Severn River in Annapolis, Maryland, and attended the University of Maryland, where I studied science and psychology. Early in my writing, I was fortunate to mentor under the science fiction writer, Denise Vitola, and attended a writing group that included Catherine Asaro, when she received her first writing contract. My writing went on hold for several years as I worked through several big life changes. I retired in 2022 after spending 25 years as a managing editor for several biomedical journals and now look forward to pursuing fiction writing as a second career. I am currently back in school chasing an English degree to help guide my writing. My first love is fantasy; my second is science fiction, but I enjoy reading various genres. Now, I'm finally ready to bring my stories out of virtual storage. I look forward to candid comments from the readers and writers in this forum, and I hope to give constructive observations to all of my fellow writers in my reviews.
