at 62 I've done most of the ordinary things people do - studied (Malta, Cambridge, Heidelberg), worked (lectured), married, had 3 kids (Xandru, Cikka, Lula)& separated, retired and now spend my time writing (poetry), translating (Maltese into English), working in a creative group (www.inizjamed.org). I have published 3 collections of Maltese poetry and 2 of English poetry and been translated into some other languages. Malta is lovely, but small, and it is very difficult to get into the international market from here, especially since, unfortunately, poetry is the Cinderella of the Arts here. I'm highly emotional, loud and bi-polar. Most of my friends are decades younger than me. I love people, but my energy seems to be abating somewhat, which frustrates me no end. What would I do without Internet, I wonder - probably take the exercise I'm meant to!!
