Lizbeth Hartz hopes to receive (and give) feedback on her writing (and the work of the other writers in this community. She's mostly working on short stories, essays, and blog posts connected in some way to her memoir Angel Hero, Murder in Hawaii, A True Story. (For example, she submitted an essay about gun violence and activists, first to Writers Resist, more recently to Bells to Bullets.)
She graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of California at Riverside in the early 70’s. After moving to Hawaii a few years later, she freelanced as a writer part time, resulting in nearly 150 nonfiction magazine articles published in local and regional magazines. For fourteen years, she was employed as a dispatcher for two military fire departments on Oahu. Her true-crime memoir Angel Hero grew out of that experience. Currently, she is collaborating on a screenplay adaptation of her book. She wrote the lyrics for a song, also titled Angel Hero, music by John Valentine (uncle of Bruno Mars) that was demoed in Nashville and is for sale on iTunes and Amazon.
After the murderer described in her memoir died in 2015, her publisher, Kwill Books, created a third edition of her memoir with a fabulous new cover, a terrific trailer, and a new subtitle: Murder in Hawai'i, A True Story. Here's the link: http://www.kwillbooks.com/lizbeth-hartz/
