I'm currently a real estate agent in Tucson with big dreams of writing a book. My bachelor's degree in journalism has led me through many years of writing and typesetting, but the thrill of writing news articles can't possibly compare with seeing my work between covers. I prefer non-fiction to fiction, perhaps influenced by my journalism training. From 1998 to 2002, I lived in two remote mining camps in Peru -- the second was at 14,000 feet in the Andes Mountains. I long to write a book about this astonishing, enlightening, emotional, cultural experience. The five-page updates I sent to family and friends during this time led to more and more requests to be put on my mailing list. People ate the stuff up. I lived it. A third world country with all the poverty and foreign-to-me backward policies and procedures that still make my head spin. I look forward to joining this site.
