Irene Baron began her writing career as an Information Specialist with Battelle Memorial Institute under contract to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Advanced Research Projects Agency, Research & Development Center-Thailand. She sat left seat in Sikorski Helio 19 helicopters operated by Air America along the Mekong River bordering Laos, Cambodia and Thailand while directing aerial photography during the Vietnam War. Baron wrote sections of the Mekong River Project book for use during counter insurgency if needed by American forces if Thailand were invaded during the SEATO Agreement. A private pilot, artist and author, she currently lives in the United States.
