Profile Information

Incorporating the latest findings in science, medicine, technology, and current events, my novel, Stem Cell, is a 133,660-word medical suspense/thriller. My background as both a researcher and an Ophthalmologist contributed to the science in the book. Stem Cell follows computer wiz Alexandra Vit. Blessed with extreme intelligence and, unbeknownst to her, the genetic markings for longevity, Alexandra finds herself the target of abduction. Relying on her keen analytical mind and a knowledge of science and technology, she uncovers the secrets of a conspiracy that goes back to her birth secrets about the misuse of government power, political cover-ups, the death of her aunt, and her own genetic gifts. I earned a Ph.D. in electro-optics from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Over the next 20 years, I consulted for the medical industry on technology, amassed a portfolio of two dozen US and International patents, and published numerous scientific articles. During that period, I was on the voluntary staff of both Albert Einstein and Mount Sinai medical schools. Initially engaging primarily in technical writing, I’ve recently branched out into fiction. Over the past few years, I have attended several SEAK workshops on fiction writing for physicians, writing seminars at Sarah Lawrence College, and the Gotham Writers’ Workshop.
