Gene Thomas has had three major careers. His first career was air traffic control. Gene was among twelve thousand controllers fired by President Reagan during the infamous PATCO strike in 1981. After re-training, Gene got into defense contracting where he managed a division of accounting for General Dynamics – at the time, the largest defense contractor in the world. When the cold war ended and defense contracting began to wane, Gene migrated to education. After earning three advanced degrees, Gene rose to become a School District Superintendent before moving into the college/university education ranks. Gene’s writing style has always enabled him to share his thoughts in ways that many characterize as; “an easy read.” Gene and his partner Marilyn live in Alpine, California.
