I am a mom of 2. One of our kids has special needs and so I homeschool in the morning and work part time as a copy writer in the afternoon for 4-6 hours. I write to escape and I wish I could devote more time to my writing rather than copy writing but bills have to be paid. I have learned to appreciate any time I am afforded to write and I a okay with only being able to do my best. In a perfect world I would work on my book on a full time basis, raise my kids and have an easier ride but I also believe that good writing comes from life experience of which I have lots. I write about growing up in my native Tobago (fiction) and it brings back fond memories and keeps me connected with my home and my roots. I am very knowledgeable about my childs condition but I am not interested in writing about it though I have been asked to several times. I just really don't want to use my writing ability for that as I'd like to keep my writing fun for ME because it is hard to keep or do anything for me without having to schedule it or justify spending on it. I love to write and yet entering this contest is making me fearful that contrary to the belief of my freinds and relatives and my employer, that I will discover I am actually a terrible writer and well ...we all know the feelings that accompany that (lol) Thanks, Daniella
