Profile Information

I'm a third year Teaching Assistant and Ph.D. student in the Department of English at University of Illinois at Chicago. My research interests include African diaspora studies, Caribbean literature, and trauma theory. My current project concerns representations of the Rwandan and Bosnian genocides in literature and film. When I'm not teaching or attending class, I'm making jewelry or reading for my book club. I live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago with my husband and our dogs, Bella and Choco.
