I self-published my first book last year through Create Space ("What We Leave Behind: Four Generations in Cicero, Illinois (None of Them Knew Al Capone"), available at Amazon, after participating in National Novel Writing Month in November 2013. I like to write humorous essays for the most part, and am currently working on a what I hope is a funny memoir about cleaning out my parents' house they've lived in for 59 years--while they are still living in it. I am a retired second-grade teacher, legal secretary, law clerk, and bookseller (in that order). I love to read, write, hike, play piano, and do crossword puzzles.
