About a year ago I finished the first draft of a semi-historical novel (are the 1990'2 history)?) about the chaotic love affair between a British woman moolighting for MI6 and a KGB officer from Belarus. John le Carré meets 50 Shades of Grey in the newly independant Belarus, Moscow Chechnya and Afghanistan. I have let it sit in a drawer for a year and am now doing extra research to beef up the plot before tackling the second draft.
My new novel is a romantic comedy about a recently divorced British woman livingin the South of France. Brexit looms and she decides to secure her residency rights by marrying a Frenchman, or any other EU citizen for that matter. In the running are a retired admiral, an organic farmer and a Polish plumber. This is a farce that explores the absurdity of life when all certainties are throw in the air, middle age looms and politics provide more entertainment than Netflix.
