I am a college educated woman who works as a radio announcer in a cery small town in southern Ohio. i was born with a very mild case of cerebral palsy that never really impeded me much, except in junior high, when kids become cruel. I enjoy all types of self expression, including painting drawing, sculpting, clay and beadwork. I have written and journaled all my life and would live to publish a book of short stories - It is short stories and poetry I am most interesteted in, not a chaptered novel; I am not sure why - perhaps as my confidence as a writer grows the possibility of taking on a novel will become more likely. I am off of work right now, rehabbing a broken back, so I have disciplined myself to writing at least 6 hours a day - be it writing poetry, short stories, reviews of books or movies, or blogging. I prefer writing longhand to using the computer, and I am particular to the max about my tools - I MUST use one of my many beloved fountain pens - the type with a bladder that you fill from a bottle of ink. I use black or navy blue ink only when required for som reason - ink the color o the purest turquoise is as mundane as I allow myself under other circumstances. Moleskine notebooks are my favored paper - Good enough for Hemingway, good enough for me! 10 years ago I found a book called "All About Me", a guided journal compiled by Phillip Keel and distributed by Dell. Ever since, about every 2 years, I buy a blank copy and fill it out again - Certainly somethings never change, but it is fun to see how the other things do change as I (gulp) age. I am always looking for sites or books that offer creative writing subjects. Any suggestions wouls be gratefully accepted.
