Andrew L. MacNair was born in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1952 and lived in the restored section for his first nine years. His family moved to Los Angeles where his father was head of Public Relations at the Los Angeles County Art Museum. When he was thirteen his family moved to La Jolla, California where he attended and graduated from La Jolla Country Day School. Mr. Lomac-MacNair went to the University of the Pacific and the University of California, Santa Cruz and graduated Magna Cum Laud in Religious Studies. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a Masters in Sanskrit. His studies eventually brought him to India where he lived in the holy city of Varanasi for nineteen months. In 1979 he created the Spice of Life Catering Service in San Diego and operated the business for thirteen years. He married his wife, Lynne, in 1980, and they had two daughters, Isa, and Kate. He attended the University of New England, earned his second Masters in Education, and pursued lengthy career in that field. He has written three novels, recently publishing Lantern’s Passage on Amazon. It has sold over 700 copies and remains in the top five percent of Amazon’s Kindle Book sales rank. His third novel, The Embers of Varanasi, was a semifinalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and will be submitted to traditional publishing houses for consideration. His second, The Edge of the Cliff is entered in the NextBigWriters competition and is ready for publication—mainstream or self. Mr. MacNair has traveled extensively and currently lives between Lagunas de Baru, Costa Rica and San Diego, California.
