My love of reading and writing started in my school years, where I earned many awards for my poetry and short stories. On leaving school, I put aside my dream of being a journalist, opting instead for the more stable choice of a nursing career. When fate brought me to a job in a Library, my dreams were rekindled, but put on hold again to raise my family.
I contented myself with reading widely, always searching for new authors' works to devour. From Narnia to the Lord of the Rings, magic, shifters and highland romances, my printed book collection is one of my greatest treasures, although I also love to read works downloaded to my kindle.
When I decided that it was time to live my dream, I began searching for writing courses and came across some online ones, conducted by Terry Spear, a prolific and well regarded author of paranormal and highland, adventure/romance novels. I devoured each one that she offered and watched as my writing and confidence improved. Once the door was opened for me, I found that stories would run around in my head and although it took me almost a year to finish Prophecy Unravelled, the next in the series, Secret Alpha, which explores one of the characters in part one is literally tumbling onto the page.
I'm currently working full time as a Librarian in a University Library. I write every night after dinner and on the weekends, often before the dishes and definitely to the detriment of any ironing!
