Topic: What's up with the group connection?

As far as I can tell, I'm a member of this group. I'm supposed to be able to review the works of others who are subscribed to this group when they set their profile to allow fellow group members to read their works. So why am I finding myself blocked from reading the works of some new members who are members of some of the same groups as I am? 'Tis most frustrating.

Any ideas?

Feeling rejected and unloved...... sad

Bobbie, are they members of Premium? And are they publishing to Premium? It requires points to publish to this group, and new members often bypass publishing to Premium because they don't have enough points. You need to be a member of a group to which they published.

What error message do you get?

Hey Dirk!

It says on his profile that he's a member of this group. I'm a member of this group. Here's the message I get when I click on the writing he's posted:

Not Authorized
Please join one of the following groups to read this posting: Young Adult Writers.

Another way to get access is connecting with ***** using the Connect button on their profile page.  (I took out his name 'cause he may not want me posting it here.)

I would chalk it up to a glitch but this isn't the first time I've gotten this notice on new members who have showing the same groups I belong to. I try to give new members a review as quickly as possible. I know how much I appreciated those early reviews when I first joined. Just trying to pay it forward...

Re: What's up with the group connection?

That means he didn't post the story in this group, even though you're both members of it.  He chose to only post it in Young Adult Writers.  You can join YAW and read it there.

Before hitting the post button, he would have picked the groups he wanted to post the story in, and he didn't pick this one. He could have posted in both YAW and here, but obviously he didn't.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, MJ.

Now it clicks in my little pea brain. I'm a techno genius, in case you didn't notice.....
