Hi all,

You've all been quite patient. I wanted to let you know we are going to launch the first of a few contests next week. We'll start with a flash story and then progress to poetry and then the Strongest Start.

What are the rules about what can be submitted to Strongest Start? I'm currently working on the third draft of my WIP. I never submitted it for the contest because earlier drafts were garbage and I knew it. My first three chapters are now essentially in final form.

I just entered my story, but didn't see a list of entrants. Will that not be available this time? It's been a while since I entered a contest.

Also, on the off chance that others haven't yet entered, how do they access the contest? I see no link from the contest page, nor from my portfolio page.

You just select the contest from your home page, then select “entries” to see the list of entrants.

I think we're going to launch the Strongest Start before the poetry contest, so I expect it will start in 2-3 weeks. I'm finalizing some details. It generally runs 2 1/2 - 3 months.

Sol, are there any rules as to how new the material has to be? I've been working on my book part-time for six years but have never entered it. The current (third) draft is over a year old. Much to my dismay, it will need a fourth draft as well.
