Topic: Who is your favourite romance writer?

This is an easy one for me.  Stephanie Laurens.  Ever since I've read the first one, I was hooked and if I see one of her books I haven't read yet (mostly new ones), I pick it up immediately - her name on the cover is enough.  I love her style and sense of humour.  Although I have to admit, her latest books are not as good as the Cynster series novels.  But it's still good.

She recently started to publish her own medieval novels (which is way more steamy than her usual style) under MS Laurens.  The first one was 200,000 words plus, and again, not to the standard I'm used to, but still a good read.

I do read romance novels widely, but with most other authors it's hit and run for me.  Stephanie was the first author who consistently maintained the same standard for me.  My favourite book of hers is Captain Jack's woman, the prequel to the Bastion Club series which was also an absolute pleasure to read.

It would be interested to find out who the other romance member favourite authors are!

Re: Who is your favourite romance writer?

I have several that I immediately go to when I'm looking for something new to read: Susan Mallery, Lora Leigh, Naima Simone, and Ela Sheridan. There are others, but those top the list. My problem is that once I start reading, I can't stop. Then it's like a Lays potato chip and I cant read just one. The last time I read (independent of this site), it took me a month stop before I picked-up my work to continue (30-books in 30-days). Reading's an addiction for me and this site provides the pull I need to read plus the push I need towards publication.

As you can tell, I'm very passionate about reading...

Re: Who is your favourite romance writer?

Depends on my mood I guess.
Diana Palmer (although her more recent books have become very repetitive), Lori Foster, Debbie Macomber, Leigh Greenwood, Lora Leigh, Linda Howard, I could go on and on smile

Re: Who is your favourite romance writer?

Great question....I also enjoy Lori Foster and Lora Leigh, plus Sandra Brown and Nora Roberts...Nora Roberts was the first romance novel I ever read. I also love the Tea Rose collection by Jennifer Donnelly...It is a great series that starts in turn of the last century London and ends in America....Very well written with believeable characters and great storylines.....
