Apologies, Jack, I thought I responded. I try to respond with thanks to all the reviews, because I truly appreciate each one. I don't mark them applied until I've responded and implemented the changes, so I'm not quite sure how I missed responding to you but I do apologize. The reason yours got deleted is, I needed to combine all my chapters into one book. I deleted chapters one and two after they were combined with the other chapters because I didn't want it to be confusing to readers. Consequently all the reviews done on those first two chapters were deleted. So again, I apologize that this is delayed, but I do thank you, and I do appreciate you taking the time to not only read, but lend your thoughts as well. As you mentioned, I did use some of them and they are much appreciated. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you.

Seems as if all the other postings, including chapters 3 & 4 have dropped from the listings. Very strange, because my last post Chapter 2 is there. Any way to get them back without points?.

I can't figure out how to combine books already published, Vern, but I'm digging into it. I may try to see if admin can help if I can't figure it out.

And because I couldn't figure out the chapter system until Chapter 3, chapters 1 & 2 are separate books. Chapter 3 on will be a single book. Unless I break the book into parts. Any thoughts on that?

Thank you to everyone for responding and chiming in. I appreciate all the thoughts and good advice. My chapters were originally much shorter, chapter 1 was three chapters, and I may end up going back to that. I felt at the time they were not only too short, but I didn't want to drag out the set-up. I will revisit this later, so thanks to all of you for your thoughts.

P.S. And thanks for putting up with my blind spots to commas and hyphens. Something I'm working on, but no promises.

Thanks Amy. I was thinking 3000 max. It's also tough reading a chapter in three parts. What do you think about that? Is that too much?

I'm trying to get a sense for how many words I should publish at a time. I broke up my first chapter into three parts because it's a long chapter. Chapter 2 is over 6000 words as well. I'm trying to decide whether to split it in half or post it in its entirety. I've noticed some inline reviews tend to peter out after the first several paragraphs. So I'm wondering if I post a large chunk if it will get completely reviewed. What are your thoughts and what do you do?
