Topic: Inspiring Thoughts.

I get an email with an inspiring thought for the day. And thus morning I thought it would be nice to start a topic for quotes like this. Whether they're written by members of this group or by someone else. These types of thoughts can help us in our daily life.

                                                                            Happiness...

“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” ― Martha Washington

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Potential...
“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!”― Anne Frank

When I think about Bravery - Anne Frank is one of the people who comes to my mind. Who else do you think of as Brave.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Confidence...
“Confidence... thrives on honesty, on honor, on the sacredness of obligations, on faithful protection and on unselfish performance. Without them it cannot live.”― Franklin D. Roosevelt

I feel in order to be as Brave as we all would like to be, we also need to be confident in Who's we are.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Truth...
“There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.” ― Buddha

Prophets come from many walks of life and I believe Buddha was a Prophet blessed by God to speak to the Chinese people.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Influence...
“Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.”― Napoleon Hill

This quote speaks for itself.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

From Susie Larson -

Do you mind if I speak a blessing over your week?

Karen, may Jesus Himself lift you up and make you strong.  May He heal those hidden areas that surface time and time again.  May He bring wholeness and health to your mind, body, and spirit.  May He strengthen you and fill you with faith so you will dare to take the risks He puts before you.  May you take time in His presence so you will remember how strong and mighty He is.  And may your week ahead be filled with sacred moments that remind you just how precious you are to Him!  You are so dear to His heart. Amen!

To the journey ahead!

Yes this one is a little personal. But as I read it I felt a stirring in my heart to share it with everyone.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Dignity...
“Your dignity can be mocked, abused, compromised, toyed with, lowered and even badmouthed, but it can never be taken from you. You have the power today to reset your boundaries, restore your image, start fresh with renewed values and rebuild what has happened to you in the past.” ― Shannon L. Alder

Also remember that what Our Heavenly Father thinks of you is more important then what any one in this world thinks of you.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Pride...
“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.” ― Margaret Thatcher

This can be very difficult to do at times, but is well worth it in the long run.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Discipline...
“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.” ― Buddha

Like I said before, I believe Buddha was a prophet. His wisdom and insight follow the same teachings that are in the New Testament.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Liberty...
“What light is to the eyes - what air is to the lungs - what love is to the heart, liberty is to the soul of man.” ― Robert Green Ingersoll

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Courage...
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.” ― Anais Nin

The beauty of being a writer is that we are courageous. First by sitting down and facing a blank white screen (maybe it has lines on it) and filling it with our thoughts, takes courage. Then by sharing what we wrote with others, takes courage. Finally by publishing our stories for the entire world to read, takes courage. So you are courageous my friends.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Humanity...
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” ― Dalai Lama

How many of you would like to visit the Dalai Lama some day? I know I would love to do that.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Lessons...
“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.” ― Gilda Rander

What a wonderful insight for how life works.

Re: Inspiring Thoughts.

Gratitude...
“I write about the power of trying, because I want to be okay with failing. I write about generosity because I battle selfishness. I write about joy because I know sorrow. I write about faith because I almost lost mine, and I know what it is to be broken and in need of redemption. I write about gratitude because I am thankful - for all of it.” ― Kristin Armstrong

I have a feeling a lot of us do this when we write. We give our characters the attributes that we want in our own lives.
