Topic: Review Acknowledgement

I don't recall reading anything about it (could be I simply overlooked it), but what happened to the old site requirement that an author had to at least acknowledge a review before being able to post something new? Did that go by the wayside, or is it an oversight?

Re: Review Acknowledgement

I don't know either, Allen, but I'd kind of like to know that I didn't waste my time reviewing. An acknowledgement would be great. We're notified when we do have a response to a review, but I know I've reviewed lots that have not been acknowledged. Should we add this to our wish list?

Re: Review Acknowledgement

Maybe something slightly annoying on the Reviews screen, reminding people how many reviews they haven't responded to.

Re: Review Acknowledgement

I thought the little response blank was our way to acknowledge.  I've never done anything else.  I do respond to each item in the in-line review, and I know a lot of people don't.  I have received a blank response once or twice, but I just figured it was one of those times when the computer took over.  JP

Re: Review Acknowledgement

JP, I figure if the box is blank, it was at least read. And it shows as having been read.

Re: Review Acknowledgement

Yes, we don't force it anymore. We can add some language that explains how reviewers really, really like to receive a response back from the writer.

Re: Review Acknowledgement

Oh, it would also help authors not overlook reviews. I've had that happen and weeks later get a response with an apology.
