Nope, not at this time. Been requested before, but still a no go. Used to could sell them, but believe that's also a no go now. Just tell anyone you want to have them to throw you some fluff reviews with no work or thought or even reading the piece and all will be "write" with the world -- well, you might get some push back from the pc police (kind of defeats the purpose of having points) but nothing major will happen. Your decision. Take care. Vern
Edited for PS: Okay, there is a way you could do it, but I've shared it in the past and it can open another can of worms so I'll leave it be. Some other devious souls have used it bassakwards and wouldn't want to encourage them.
Would that we could. I've made similar suggestions in the past and they got shot down each time. I would love to be able to reward specific reviewers who take a huge amount of time doing detailed reviews of my work, even though they could just drop five comments in an inline review and leave. The best way to deal with the points economy on the site is to give detailed/helpful reviews to those individuals you want to acquire/keep as reciprocal reviewers.
Lots of fear of abuse of the system. I still like the idea of being able to give a "helpful review" extra point, though.
Giving extra points from your own stock is a good idea. It creates an extra incentive for anybody to review particular stories, and is also a recognition to those who review many stories and have accumulated many points. The main objective of this site is to exchange reviews. If somebody has already reviewed a high number of stories and, in consecuence, acumulated a large amount of points, he/she should be in position to offer some of them as an incentive to others to review his/her story. Sounds fair.
What do you think, Sol?

Mariana, I'm not sure I understand your proposed approach. Are you saying we should offer up extra points to anyone who reviews a piece? That could quickly bankrupt the generous publisher of the piece and wouldn't guarantee that they get better reviews, just more of them.
My own idea was the ability to simply transfer some points to a particular person as an added thanks for extra effort, whether for one particularly helpful review or for long-term mentoring. It would be simple to build. Simply pick a connection, select how many of your points to give, add a thank you note, and the transfer is made.
That's exactly what I'm proposing. It's a common practice in our competitor site. People offer extra points during limited time. E.g., an extra point, or an extra 0.75, if you review any of my chapters one to five. It can certainly bankrup you if hordes or reviewers fall on you, which is unlikely. What is likely is that you will receive an interesting number of extra reviews, or the usual amount of reviews but faster. Once you receive enough reviews, you remove the incentive, or move the incentive to chapters 6 to 10.
I do think it's a good idea, and lots of people do it in the other site to pull the reviewers' interest.
I'm not against your idea of giving extra points to people who, according to each writer's own judgement, have provided particularly helpful reviews. The problem with that idea is that is discretional and may spawn wrong practices. Imagine you and I are friends and you know I'm short of points, because I've not reviewed other people as I should, but I still want to publish. If you wish, you can transfer to me as many points as you wish as soon as I review one of your chapters, only because you wanna help me.
My idea, IMHO, is more fair. You give extra points to anybody reviewing your work, and it creates a larger review exchange. The objective of this site is to foster cross-revision of chapters. I know that, sometimes, the quality of the reviews is not very high, and you risk getting poor reviews in exchange of extra points, which won't be nice, but you can get crap nowadays, and people fishing for points have been reported and banned from the site in the past.

Giving extra points for reviews would not be logical. If people only wanted more points, they could easily review works which already offer more points -- either longer works or poems which offer far more points per word. Giving points away is not much different than bailing out someone who doesn't want to do the work to gain them on their own merit. If they want or need points, they are there for the taking by reviewing to your hearts content to gain all those points to give away when they become meaningless. Giving away points for reviews is tantamount to bribing someone to review your work rather than another which they might otherwise decide to do. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." Just my opinion. Take care. Vern
I think you're all getting to why extra points haven't been offered.
There's potential abuse of both the systems proposed so far and they also steer people away from certain reviews or could be used to inaccurately feed points.
The problem is never the "good" uses, it's always the abuse that prevents things from materializing.
Hello.
I've always championed a system where you get back a tenth of the cost of posting for each different review you receive. After ten reviews, your posting is essentially free. This promotes reviewing and kinda pushes a writer to post work that's either already pretty good or shows improvement. I know I'd appreciate ten reviews on anything I post, and I would sure be willing to recip. It would also help small groups (of ten or more) to become better writers and reviewers. That's how it works in the real world when writers get together to critique and such. The groups I've been in seldom hit the ten person mark, though, so there is that- the review group here would be larger and provide a more diverse range of comments.
Them's my thoughts.
So many good ideas, thank you. One frustration I have felt with this site is—as in the real world and other sites I’ve used—some don’t reciprocate when they receive a review. Alas, human nature. That’s why I wanted to offer additional points. I guess I will get hard-nosed. If I review someone’s posts twice and there’s no reciprocity, I will ignore their posts until there is—and i’ll Label them privately some term in the swine category!

You can lead a person to the tnbw site, but you can't make them reciprocate. No amount of enticement (sometimes known as bribery) will change them.
Such is life. JP
Thanks, JP, I’m on my way to acceptance but I sure would like to share those points!
