Topic: Well, it happened. :(

Well, it happened and I didn't even know. Obviously, Amazon didn't consider this worth notifying me.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too slow, August 1, 2016
By Celina
This review is from: Lucky Thirteen (The Raiford Chronicles Book 1) (Kindle Edition)
Never finished it - too slow for my taste

If a person doesn't finish a book, why bother to leave a review?

All the Raiford Chronicles are marketed as Romantic-Suspense.

Multiple murders? Exploration of the strange bond between twins? A nutcase trying to summon a demon through ritual sacrifice? Betrayal? Fist fights? Romance on two fronts? A deep abiding faith? Slow?

Romance--No, this novel is NOT erotica, so if that's what a person wants in romance, don't look here. You will not find bed-hopping, crude sexual language, bondage, torture, etc.  Suspense--isn't supposed to rush by in a blur; that's why it's called SUSPENSE..

Take the challenge--Read it for yourself!

Re: Well, it happened. :(

Hi Janet,

Bad reviews suck, but it's the price we pay for making our works available on Amazon. They allow reviews from anyone with a purchase history and sometimes their robot will throw out good reviews because their algorithm deems it is from someone who knows the author, or there are too many good reviews. Whatever. I just try to ignore the reviews and not worry about them

A review on one of my books was:
"Yes it is fiction but it is so unrealistic that it is ridiculous. ... This book is stupid down to the last scene"

yet the same person said on another book:
"Good book, nice plot, the first of John and Liz collier mysteries and a lot better than book number two."

Don't know if he ever read Book 3 and don't care. Just remember, one bad review won't affect the overall rating unless it's the only one.

Re: Well, it happened. :(

I can relate, Janet. You've got tons of glowing reviews, but it's that one meh comment that sticks in your craw. As a doctor, I'm open to being "reviewed" by anyone on several "rate your doc" sites. While most of them are lovely, kind and appreciative, there's always one crank here or there who rants about me because I prescribed a medication that cost some ridiculous amount of money (like I'm supposed to know all the intricacies of their ever-changing prescription benefits). Don's advice is top notch, and remember: at least you have the guts and talent to put yourself out there!
