Topic: Formatting during edit

When I edit an existing work that is single spaced, all of my edits are double spaced. I don't think this has been reported in a forum, so perhaps it should be added to your list. I have some poetry that has very unusual formatting and line breaks after I've edited them.

Re: Formatting during edit

Can you provide a link to that poetry. Thanks.

Catalpa Tree is one example.  Sorry, I don't know how to provide a link other than the name of the piece.

Re: Formatting during edit

When you edit a line and press return, it will automatically double-space it.

What you need to do is simultaneously press SHIFT + ENTER to create a new line. This will create a single spaced line break.

So, you may need to respace a bit of you are editing. Let me know if that helps.

Re: Formatting during edit

I just tried this successfully. Thank you. How interesting that I have been pressing ENTER for years to achieve a single-spaced line break in a document that is formatted as single-spaced.
