I used to read him regularly. However, now that he employs a "team" to write his books, not so much. I can tell the difference. That personal touch is missing.

Obviously marketing ploys pay more than writing. You are so right there is a difference.

I stopped reading Michener when it was obvious that someone else was doing the writing. His later novels were cranked out by formula.
