Hi, EF, well, you can use my share of smilies; I never use them; not sure you can use too many or too few. Anyway, welcome to the site. Glad you found us; we are fantastic, lol. Take care. Vern

Welcome to a great bunch.

Re: Hello! -Newbie Alert-

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! smile It's nice to get some real critique from fellow writers. I typically can't get more than a one or two-sentence critique from family and friends. Not to mention the fact that I get to let out my grammar Nazi self on everyone else's work.

Welcome! Let the Nazi out smile.

Welcome Elisheva,
You'll definitely get good critiques from the writers on TNBW.  I had the same problem as you with family and friends.  Now I'm making good progress.  Regards, Randy

If you are debating about using or not using points, I suggest you use them.  It will require you to review the work of others, which well benefit both you and them, and it will make your work valuable to other point-users.

Re: Hello! -Newbie Alert-

Definitely use points.

Re: Hello! -Newbie Alert-

Welcome to the funny farm.  Don't worry about being a grammar Nazi. Some of slept through English.
Have fun,
Mike

And some of us like to debate grammar, both in narrative and dialogue.
