| Bio: | Born mid-twentieth century, I'm an unrepentant stereotype--an aging boomer. I graduated from my hometown college with a BA and a decade later and M.Ed. For the first half of my adult life, I worked in public education as a teacher, counselor and program coordinator in order to pay the bills. I've raised three children as a single parent; the last two were my foster children before adopting them.. I tend to speak my mind before thinking about the consequences. I'm against war in general, volunteer with animal rescue organizations, shop in organic natural food stores, drive an electric hybrid, and have a bumper sticker which says "I love my country but I think we should start seeing other people again." I spend a great deal of time painting landscapes in oil and watercolors. And a great deal of my money on books and craft materials. And I'm a sucker for a guy with a great smile. To re-invent myself now that the children have moved away, I chose my life long interest in writing, to be the next big adventure. I’ve taken three writing courses from extended university and online. I regularly contribute my opinion in a column for the California Democratic Dialogue --a statewide political news rag published in print and online. |
