I'm an aspiring novelist: mystery and thriller genres. Been at it for about six years, full time. Have spent a lot of time studying craft and writing a lot of words that will never see the light of day. Many of my favorite authors have been known to say something along the line of "It took me ten years and 1,000,000 written words to become an overnight success." Based on their experiences, I'm quite happy with my current progress.
