F. Jo Bruce Profile

A writer for decades, I let life get in the way a lot; now in the autumn of my life I am passionate about writing fiction, poetry, memoirs and performing verbal "tellings." This past year I was honored to have four life essays selected and published in "Write for the Fight - A Collection of Seasonal Essays." All proceeds from sales go toward breast cancer research. I was one of several entrants who won slots in the publication, through a contest sponsored by the publisher. I was thrilled to be in the esteemed company of several repeated published authors. I love to write about the simpler life and times in the fifty/sixty decades, mostly in the South. I was raised and spent my life in MS until about 10 years ago; moving to the MO Ozarks via several years spent in TN. My husband and I, along with our three furbabies, have stepped back in time, living in a small cabin, "pioneer style." I love the real life stoies of life from times gone by of people and places. I am a Community Scholar of the Univ. of Missouri Folklore Program. I have recently completed my first compensated book editing.
