Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

My sympathies.  You have a lot more responsibilities than I do, so I let it go longer before going out to get dosed.  With my history, the doc authorized a refill on the 10 days of levoflaxin.  If the symptoms aren't completely clear by day six (unlikely they will be at this rate) I'll get the refill and take it until I'm clear of symptoms for at least five days.

Will check it out. I must have caught the crud that is being passed around. What a waste of three days.

Get better so that you can write, but not go to work yet!

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Okay, updates to Shogran's Waifs are out.

If you want a repub so you can get the points you deserve, let me know.

Now, where are all those things I need to do today after I get some sleep?

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Caught the link. Thanks.

I'm better but still limping until I can shake this flu. Don't catch it. Just don't.

830

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I heard they missed one on the 'flu shot this year.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Not so funny if you're the one who gets it.  Apologize to Amy (grrrrr).

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

That's OK. I just went over to his apartment and spit on his door handle. We're even.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Don't make me go over there and sort you out .... Children these days! *shakes head*

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

And take your fight out in the parking lot!  Cheez ...

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

K appears to be winking in and out of our universe. I find conversations where he is being addressed, but when I look for his posts, they're not there. It's possible Professor Hinkley's time machine has disrupted the spacetime continuum. Perhaps K (aka Gilligan aka guy with the cool hat) has always been in 1966, sending us posts from his smartbanana while his head rests in the lap of a beautiful woman. The only question left to be answered is: Ginger or Maryanne? The camera pans up from K to follow the curvaceous outline of his buxom paramour. The neck comes into view, thrice encircled by glittering diamonds. We move up over the chin to the full mouth with ruby lips surrounding pearl-white teeth, so perfect they could be ... dentures? WTF? Mrs. Howell, K?!

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Okay, short transition chapter up.  The next one may take a while; I've got another disaster to dodge (and I don't mean the next chapter).  But I'm feeling better, and this episode will launch me into the next episode better than anything I thought of before.

The other day upon the stair
I saw a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
He must be with the CIA.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Following this chapter, I will have an action thread and two-to-four discussion threads to interweave.  (Heal patriarch, discuss circumstances, events, plans, show evolution of Shassa and Engalt ... and cross-link.)  (And, as I wrote above, I will have a week of disaster-dodging.)  But I will try to work the individual threads out, starting with the action thread.  I expect two chapters surrounding the patriarch (Maurand, I am thinking) and maybe a short chapter on planning and departure.  And then ... the culturing-cellar of corruption.

And along the way, I expect I'll be renumbering a few existing chapters.

But that's a ways down the road.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I'm getting to your side of the thread. But I'm back to the coal mines and working a bunch. Today, though...it may be a pajama day. I may get some time to bond with my computer.

Don't fear the Harvester?

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Too late. Google bit him and now he'll never forgive.

His voice was soft,
His manner mild.
He seldom laughed,
But he often smiled.
He'd seen how civilized men behave.
He never forgot and he never forgave,
Not Sweeney,
Not Sweeney Todd—
The demon barber of Fleet Street!

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I have a mod for the opening of =To Find a Sorcerer=.  Later today.

844

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

Okay, mod complete.  Maybe a little less elegant of its own, but I think it flows better from the previous chapter.

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth, but it feels like it. I'm missing out on the 'Trials and Tribulations of Being Merran', as well as "Matt and Cathy boink."  I'm hoping to catch up on "Ghost or God: Talking To Ones Self When No One Else Is Listening in Modern Rome," as well as "Dragons Are Cool so Shut Up and Read!"

K's contribution will be, "I Write Books For The Sole Purpose Of Getting My Characters' Children Into The Storyline," followed by, "Oops, I Forgot Those Powers Could Do That But I Published So It Has To Be True."

In all fairness, somewhere in here, I need to write more of my "Never Ending Story and The Endless Crypt Meets Flowing Gillis Juice." Sigh. I've got red on my ledger. Time to make some black marks.

Hmm.  Do I hear The Punting of the Snark?

Sounds like you're almost back to 100% again! Good news!!!

Not 100%, but a feeling a lot better. Sleeping 44/48 hours helped a lot. Poor me. Time to take another nap...

Yeh. I'm not leaving my posts around for Google to harvest. I try to delete them within 72 hours max.

Hopefully, you haven't deleted all of your old posts to my own thread. I refer back to them from time to time....

I thought Amy blocked us from internet prying...

Re: The Sorcerer's Progress

I'm still working on my next chapter.  No title yet.  The opening episode is running a bit long, and I need time to think and prune.  I've got the second episode done, though, and I hope you'll like it.  I also hope I didn't overdo parts of it.

Meanwhile, I've got a slow-crisis that is speeding up, and I have less that 16 hours to put things straight, so I won't be writing for probably 30 hours.

edit: I may also be working on the last of the infection.  I'm stilll on the levifloxacin (sp?) and I'm still slowly improving.
