Group subscriptions are a limited resource.  It wouldn't and shouldn't be -mine-.  And many people already have threads in existing groups.  (I suppose this argues for multiple-appearance threads.)

I think you are overcomplicating this a bit. Create a new group (you only belong to four yourself) or add some  threads to an existing group. There is an existing group called Additional Writing Feedback. Do it there. If this means that much to all those involved, I'm sure you'll find a way to join the group. Most of the groups appear inactive anyway so it's not like you'll be missing a ton if someone has to drop one to join the feedback group.

For me the tooltip under the chapter said: "Print this chapter."

Congratulations! I got a big kick out of it.

Hi everyone,

Sorry for being late to this assignment. My name is Rosie Zander.

1. I enjoy writing romance fiction and even a little erotica (gasp) but lately I have been dabbling in poetry. I have always found it difficult to understand poetry and so this is more of a personal attempt to overcome a shortcoming in my literary upbringing.

2. I started writing in fourth grade when I was home sick for a week and deathly bored.

3. Favorite authors  include Margaret Mitchell, Carl Hiassen, and pretty much anyone. I read a pretty diverse group of writers.

4. Quirky thing? Hmm. Let  me think. I like to garden and try to do it every year despite a really poor yield. I'm an optimist. Not exactly quirky but true.

I find keeping my motivation to write every day the most challenging. From a technical perspective I find passive/active to be the most challenging.

Hello, I joined the site about two months ago. It's nice to be here.

1. I like every type of writing, including romance, horror, science fiction, non-fiction, biography, and memoir. If the book is good I really don't care what genre it is in.

2. I started writing in elementary school. I had a great fifth grade teacher who really encouraged me to write and I will forever be grateful.

3. Favorite authors are Stephen King, Margaret Mitchell, Jane Austen, and, I hate to say it, but VC Andrews (although apparently there is more than one author writing under her name).

4. One quirky fact is that I love fruit, but not when it is cooked. Baked apples - yuck!

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Okay, I'm a retiree living on an 800-dollar a month stipend.  Please enroll me for free in the classes for screenwriting and short-story writing.  I've been nice to everybody, and I do reviews all the time.

Doesn't that sound ridiculous?  Aside from the fact that it's demeaning to yourself, it's an embarrassment to the community of writers.  Sure, we'd all like to have help, from time to time, but we're here to help each other learn, not pay the bills.

Sorry, Tom, I'm going to have to side with Temple on this.

And you, Missy--I checked out your site.  If you can afford to maintain a site, you can afford to pay an editor.  And just because you tell me how good your book is, doesn't prove anything.  Was it posted on tnbw for us to appraise?  It just happens I spent the day researching land fraud.  Are you trying to sell us some swamp land?

Nothing personal.

So, don't give money. No one has a  gun to your head. Why all the fuss and blather?

I don't see any problem with this type of request in the forums. Isn't that what they are for? Good grief, they can't just be to log issues with the site. I'd go mad. I would hope this community would want to help its fellow members in a writing-related project.

I do concur with Jack though and wonder why you need to raise money to publish a book. Today there are so many free options that money is not a factor in getting published.

Hi Dirk. Thanks  for the welcome. It's great to be here smile. For what it's worth, I like all of your suggestions. I think wishlists are great. But as a writer, I wanted to make a statement about what appears to me, as a newbie, to see some of this as a bitch list. It is the first thread I read when I came to the site so I was a bit surprised. Especially since I have enjoyed my experience so far. Reading through this though, you'd think the site sucked and was falling apart.

I'm new here but I find this conversation interesting. While everyone is making a wish list, here is mine.
I'd like a rocket  that can travel at light speed and transport me to the Andromeda galaxy. Some type of portable oxygen system would be nice. Throw in a recombinatator for food production and a holodeck for entertainment. And while you're at it, can you create a new version of the site that automatically writes my book for me and then distributes alerts and emails whenever someone access my prose? But I want to make sure I only receive alerts from left-handed people and those with three nipples. And I definitely don't want to see any writing from people who have brown eyes.
Please also create a new forum every time I utter the phrase that begins with the letter S so that discussion can be had on these types of words.
Oh, and while you're at it, do you think the site can dispense kale smoothies?
One more thing. Do you think you can rig up some type of cold fusion project so that I don't have to purchase electricity for all of this.

Thank you for your efforts.
