Topic: Embarrassed

I have never been so embarrassed for our country than today when trump and vance attacked Zelensky in the oval office. I wanted to go through the screen and choke both of them. trump is chomping at the bit for WWIII, and he even mentioned it. I hope Zelensky never sets foot in that office again. The next time they meet, he should make it somewhere else. trump is chickenshit to go to Ukraine.

Turkey is ready to send troops to fight Russia. Tell me what you think the US will do if that happens. Will they be ordered to defend Russia? If so, will they do it, or will this be our troops' perfect spot to say NO, move in, and stop this nonsense and collapse of our country?

Re: Embarrassed

Fully agree, Marilyn.  I have never witnessed anything so despicable in my life--perpetrated by the so-called leaders of the free world. Yes, countries have spats, but they're normally done behind closed doors. This was an intentional set-up by Trump and Vance. To have Marco Rubio say Zelensky owes Trump an apology and Lindsay Graham applaud Trump's behavior makes me sick.

How long will it take for the U.S. to become the most hated country in the world? If Trump and Vance think this is the way to treat allies, we won't have any in the future. I cannot believe that the Republicans in Congress can abandon one of our allies in their time of need. Why? They're too spineless to stand up to Trump and all deserve thrown out of their positions. Lincoln and Reagan must be rolling over in their graves at what will become the destruction of our country. I hope Zelensky refuses to ever go back to the oval office and that he never signs away his country's mineral rights to a convicted felon who is only in it for what he can steal. Canada, Mexico, Greenland, Panama, Gaza, and even the UK (He wanted to take over the British National Health system before a free trade deal is sorted out) had all better watch out. Who will he set his sights on next?

Re: Embarrassed

I couldn't listen to it. Just watching was bad enough. We're already the most hated in the world, and I can't believe how snowed half the country is and how easy it was to do. It's frightening as hell. I don't doubt for a second a WW is coming. Will it be nuclear, I don't think so, maybe, but it will be bad.

I saw a tweet last night that said, "Can somebody PLEASE just do it already?" and instantly it was understood what the poster meant. It had thousands of likes. I couldn't push the heart fast enough.

Definitely needs done.

I totally agree.  The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned, but who has enough guts?

Randy...Bill... anybody... do any of you think our military would consider such a takeover? My feeling is this:  I think Turkey is going to plunge in and kick Russia's butt and get this war over and done. But in the process, I think trump will pull us out of NATO and fight on Russia's side, given his love for Putin. If he orders the military to fight FOR a country we've fought to keep out of our country for years, are they required to do so, or will they quit, or just what do you think will happen?

Re: Embarrassed

The military mind is an odd mix of duty and conscience. In the majority of situations, the duty will kick in and without doubt they will run to the sound of guns. Length of service, amount of satisfaction they have with their environment, compensations when off-duty, and the support of family--either accompanying or remote, will determine the outcome of their course of action.

If I were still in the saddle, I would definitely be in the "no way" corner. My security clearances were the highest in the land, and I would do nothing to jeopardize them. Having said that, it would take a force bigger than just my immediate superior to get me to betray my oath to the Constitution and NOT to the Felon in Chief.

As you postulate, MJ, should the order come down to fight FOR Russia (not the bad, old USSR) against the beleaguered Ukraine, I would have to decline. Turkey has the right idea. Go in, finish the conflict, and get the Hell out. We should have done that in Vietnam, and probably would have had not Johnson sent those two destroyers (I was ON one of them) into the Gulf of Tonkin and forced North Vietnam to retaliate. This was his aim, to force Congress to allocate more men and equipment as targets. But I digress.

Russia is, by far, even more dangerous than the USSR was. They now have only loose control of all their firepower. They've lost their satellite countries, and are now desperate. Putin viewed Felon47 as an ally his first term, working to get him elected. Then, the second round was orchestrated by another oligarch who wants nothing more than to tear our government apart in order to make Felon47 even stronger.

The effects are even now being felt down at my level. Every contract doctor/nurse at the base hospital has been terminated. They're kicking every one of us who have been accepting care from the base (In my case for 32 years) out into the cold world of Medicare, which is itself under bombardment from Felon47.

Sorry. I rambled a bit, but to summarize: No way would I fight FOR Russia. I would fight as a common guerrilla FOR the Ukraine before I'd do that.

Bill

Re: Embarrassed

Trump is nothing more than a big blowhard who keeps threatening our allies. If Turkey goes into Russia, I think Felon47  will push the U.S. military to support Russia. Hopefully, our military will do what is right, not what the wannabe king wants.

Bill, sorry to hear your impacted by the b.s. coming from Trump and Musk. When will the Republicans in Congress grow a pair and stand up for their constituents?

Probably not until midterms, when hopefully we clean house with the ones up for re-election. But at this point, the maggots have not gotten the message that the blowhard is a bad thing for this country. They keep supporting him verbally, and in an abusive way, I might add.

I hope the military will see through all this and say no way. Up yours, trump! But I realize their careers may be at stake.

My son-in-law just retired as a CW5 in the National Guards after 30 years of service, and he, too, is having trouble getting medical help through the VA. I think it's a crying shame, but Mr. Bonespurs, of course, has no clue what it's like to be a veteran and therefore has no concern about anyone but himself. And, Bill, I am sorry to hear you're having to depend on anything other than VA care. If Musketeer has his way, Medicare and Medicaid both will be done away with. The more people he can starve out, the fewer complainers they have.

I saw this morning that brain-worm RFK Jr wants to do away with having to let citizens know when he makes a decision that affects their healthcare. He is a man who should never have been in any kind of position that deals with anyone's health. He's a drug addict, just the kind trump can manipulate.

Here is his connection with Putin. It's long but well worth watching. https://youtu.be/T-u4d6Zwdns?si=W15HdFsl2ZAkh4Kt
