Janet. Watch the new Star Wars. You'll know the part I'm thinking of when you see it.

Oh shit. I've come this far, but hide I can't any longer. Have not seen Star Wars, not even one.

*hands over each and every badge I ever owned* sniffs

*gasp* yikes

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

I think we should make it a requirement for Janet. All Americans have seen Star Wars. If she wants to puddle-jump and play in the snow, then she needs to catch up with the team. At the very least, let your boys see the series. Otherwise, their mental growth will be stunted.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

LOL, puddle! In any case, everyone has been going on about this 'Star Wars' movie, so much so that I started to think I might be missing out actually. Usually I can't care less. Stunted mental growth, huh. Better make a plan. I don't want to be known as 'that mother'. smile

Oh yes, forgot to thank Elisheva. I was starting to think I was going to get away ... I actually literally started to pick up all my badges again. So yeah, thanks! tongue

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Get the DVDs for the first set and watch that.  Then decide if you want to see the others.

BTW, the new one throws away the history developed in about 60 novels, including several large series.  This includes the death of a major character, a marriage, two more deaths, and the growth of a generation of children.  It also includes a rebirth of the Jedi, which did not occur in the backstory to this movie, which may be considered a reboot.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Will do, thanks njc!

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

There is a scene in the new one with a sand-sled. I thought of you when I saw it.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Oh, saw the pics. Thank you!

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Had a little bit of snow rain today, whoo-hoo. Not enough to leave evidence, just to get me excited again! smile

Hope you guys have a blessed and great Christmas! xx

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

I'm celebrating on the 26th. I hope God doesn't care. I did the same thing last year. I believe a new tradition is in order.

I doubt He would care. 24 hours is better than nothing! Are you working? If so, I hope it's quiet with NO excitement.
Have a great Christmas on the 26th! smile

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

I have true Xmas off. Which is good because the last day I worked, I was alone with my surgeon for company and I admitted seven patients . Three were gunshots. I've officially decided that nobody/nowhere can shoot nobody no-how for the rest of the year.

So much that I'm not going to think about those double negatives.

Nope. Not allowed

io Saturnalia, pagans!

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

You gave me another double negative...sniff...you are the BEST, New Jersey!

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Imagine the size of the snowplow. 8-)

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

I suspect that's the result of multiple snowfalls, perhaps daily falls of half an inch to seven or eight inches.  The walls of the snowpiles around the road look to be about 18 feet high, but the snow beyond seems to be maybe ten feet deep.

But imagine what four days of real warmth, with a few inches of rain, will do to that road.  And the subsequent freeze may require clearing by jackhammer.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

There is a reason why some houses in upper Michigan and Wisconsin have second-story doors that don't have a patio.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

For one, I won't drive on that road. They'll never find you in your car when those walls come down. For two, how do/did they clear that road? Only by pushing snow forward? I thought the whole principle is to push the snow out forward but mostly to the side ... Or it's a very short stretch of road?

Snow experts, make me a believer! smile

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

LOL, only if you don't shake too much from the cold K! No blurry pictures/videos! wink

Okay, so that explains the slopes away from the vertical cliffs then. Thanks K!

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

Not what I expected! Cute one though.

Re: I saw SNOW!!!!!

I see your snowplow and raise you one ROTARY COMBO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuX4G3znpDE    Take a look at this! (Bounces in delight)  There are two…only two of them in the United States. They are used once a DECADE (or for snowfall of 10 feet or more). They keep Donner pass open, which is the only freight line from Washington/ California and through the Sierra Nevada mountains.

It makes my inner geek howl with delight to see it throwing snow in excess of 300 feet. Don't stand close to this one, kiddies...
