Hello, My name is Didi Portia. As a Vampire/ Werewolf (and Zombie) Fan I thought I would create a group where Writers of Vampire/Werewolf Stories could come together and share our fascination through our writing. Having been a Vampire/Werewolf fan since as far back as I can remember I wanted to create a place where - through a common interest - we could have our voices heard, our stories read and reviewed as well as our dreams of Writing that next big Vampire Novel come to fruition. I believe that right here and now, amidst the burgeoning population of thenextbigwriter.com there are those few hopefuls who dream of writing that great Vampire/Werewolf story. I know, because I am one of them. I also believe that there is no better place than here and now to strive for such dreams.
Here in thenextbigwriter.com I have noticed that there are many good writers at every turn - all of whom are open for advice, tips and tricks when it comes to writing - and spotting writing talent. That in itself is a valuable tool for each and every one of us here who wish to improve our skills, hone our craft and showcase our talent. "Eternal Enemies: Vampires & Werewolves" is a place where we can help one another accomplish great things simply by offering sound, constructive advice, share in helpful tips and tricks and offer aid anywhere the need may arise so that we each might benefit. So that, by sharing our knowledge and assisting those in need we too can begin our own unique adventures in writing that Great and Epic Vampire/Werewolf Novel.
"Dusk: The Night After" is what I like to consider the very next night - the beginning, if you will. What I would like to do here is to lay a few ground rules. But before I go down that road, I would like to take a moment to usher in a brief understanding of what indeed a Vampire is. What a Werewolf is.
VAMPIRE -
Brief Characteristics:
Needs fresh blood from Humans.
The fresh blood of animals will suffice as well, but is not typically a Vampires first choice.
Severe allergies to Sunlight. (And let me make this clear, Vampires - at least those in this group - DO NOT Glitter or Sparkle in the sunlight.) Sunlight will burn them severely.
Most Vampires were human at one point with the odd exception.
Vampires range from Adults to Children, and generally are either Female or Male.
They range from Human-like predators who exhibit a rather human intellect to outright terrifying creatures that are more beast than man.
They range from beautifully bold, e.g. Dracula, Lestat DeLioncourt - to those most unfavourable and nasty types such as the Ekimara Beast from "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt" who are more creature than man.
Most sleep in Coffins.
Any cool, dry place where sunlight is tightly sealed off will usually suffice.
WEREWOLF -
Brief Characteristics:
Men, Women and even Children who turn into Wolves or Wolf-like Creatures at the onset of a Full Moon.
It is said that more powerful Werewolves can turn at will.
Severe allergies to pure Silver.
Silver will poison them severely.
In the day they are virtually indistinguishable in their human forms.
They range from the common Grey/Black Wolf type we are all familiar with whose appearance is that of a Wolf except much larger to those Wolf-Man types who are half Wolf-Half Man.
Now for the Rules:
1. First and Foremost: Be respectful to each other. We come here to share our works and opinions. Let's make this a place where we can share freely without ridicule or abuse, a place where we can share and be heard.
2. No over posting. Read a few, offer Reviews and then Post. Let's be reasonable with one another.
3. Language. Essentially Vampires and Werewolves are tactful, respectful and charismatic. Let us be tactful, respectful and charismatic here.
Abusive, Swearing and Stupid, Oafish Language will incur a "Removal" warning from either myself or any of the Group Moderators.) I understand that swearing and vulgarity has become the norm in our every day lives but please, let's keep that nonsense away from this Group so that we each may find this place comfortable and inviting.
4. No Spamming or Advertising. Spamming and/or Advertising will not be tolerated here. If you wish to share your Novel, Short Story and garner a following, you are required to participate by either Reading and Reviewing the work of others or else take part in the Forums as well.
That is all I have.
If anyone wishes to add to this list, please feel free to contact me.
If anyone would like to take on the responsibility as a Group Moderator let me know.
If anyone has any ideas on how we can make this group more appealing please, let me know.
I'm open for suggestions. In fact, I would appreciate any and all help I can get.
