Amy,
Thank you. Those are some awesome ideas and reminds me of some things I missed in my re-write. I love your new opening and would be curious to see how you feel it compares to the new first chapter I posted.
Merry Christmas and thank you for all your help.
Yeah, my cat follows me around like a lost puppy, always talking my ear off.
Amy S, you kill me. And nice to meet all you other oddballs hanging out in this group. And I have to agree with 'K' about cats. They rock!
KHippolite, yes I am outside the Sault. Janet Reid and Amy S, I will do that for sure. I personally prefer the in-line reviews as well. Thanx for all the advice guys.
I am in Ontario, right on the shores of Lake Superior.
Thanx Amy S
Amy S, you killed me with the intro to our fellow group members. LOL.
I'll give you mine then....I am a Romantic Suspense writer who loves to dabble in the dark side, hence my Mystery/Suspense addiction. I have to listen to music when I write which is any time, any day as long as I am not bothered with husband, kids, work and responsibilities. I'm also in Canada, more northern than I'd like, but not as remote as I envision my retirement. I enjoy reviewing works on this site, but find some difficult to give a positive 50 words, which I assume is commonplace 'cause we all can't be as amazing as Dean Koontz or Sharon Sala. I strive to make it into one of the Harlequin lineups before my 40th birthday.....I still have a few years to go, so my hopes are damn high!!!
So, I guess my story is this..... T'was a dark and stormy night.... just kidding. lol.
My story starts with my novel 'Numb'. She's the first in a trilogy and my first novel since returning from a three year hiatus away from my two previous self published novels . Since returning to writing, I have moved genre's and I am working to aim high--Harlequin high--but I know this is not without its own set of problems to overcome, first off getting my opening chapter editor worthy.
Since writing Numb, I have written its sequel--Robbie's Rare Gem and I am working on the third novel, currently Untitled, right now. I have submitted Robbie's Rare Gem to Carina Press and I am awaiting final judgement.
With the help of Miss Amy S and her brutally honest take on my first chapter I am for the first time seeing the issues it has that will keep it from where I want it to go. My brain can be a hit harry-carry and I think it is coming out in this novel. I have since rewritten my entire first chapter of Numb bringing it down significantly, but still with some flaws that need fixing.
If you would like to read my first chapters of all three novels, I have them on my page here for people's take. I am also hoping that the mistakes I made in Numb didn't carry over, so I would love anyone's take on this.
So....yeah, this is where I sit.....sigh.
I'm here. Took me forever to figure out how to remove my Romance Inc group to come here. I was bumped down to Basic *Boo* and can only have one group for now till I upgrade in the New Year.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I am looking forward to reading what everyone has to offer.
Hi everyone. I am new here, but not to writing. I'm looking forward to sharing my works and reading all of yours.
