You might want to take a look at SOOP, "Something or Other Publishing". Now don't take this as exactly write, but I believe they are in it to help the writers. You submit a proposal, then find, say 100, people to vote for you and that gets you in the door. They are trying to help writers get a start without ripping them off for money, and make sure that the writers who get published get their royalties, etc. Now, I may have gotten some of this wrong but I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out the site. Give it a look and see what you think. So far they seem different. A friend of mine is using to get a story into an anthology. Me, I'm still in lazy state, writing but not ready to put myself out and ask for votes

Personally, I don't like long posts, especially if it's a story I want to review. As far as readability goes, shorter is better. It's much easier to review a shorter post. First, long posts take a longer time to read and unless you take notes as you go, you might miss things you want to point out. Second, the time it takes to read a longer post can be intimidating. I really wish that writers would break  their posts into segments no longer than 2-3000 words, that tends to be more manageable. For me, I review better with short segments. I don't mind reading parts of stories as opposed to the full length. I'll e able to review you better that way.  Just my opinion, of course

BTW, read your post about what you're doing. That's way too much for me--wish you'd break it up
