Goal is to emulate the style of the books that sandwich it.
(A) Conveys sense of drowning (this was the goal. She's drowning in the rules society expects of her)
Not fond of the backwards lettering. Would probably un-mirror it
(B) Lighter look
Lettering a bit difficult to read
(C) Some random idea I had 20 minutes ago
At this time, I'm leaning towards (B). Anyone have a leaning?
I vote for No. 2 as well. You need to have the title clear. And it shows more of the dilemma that No. 3.

I like the random "C". She doesn't look like she is drowning to me in the first two. They look more like romance novel covers. But the intensity of her eyes in the third, the black and white starkness, and the cloth over her mouth like it's silencing her, are powerful images in my opinion. And, it will show on a tiny postage stamp image which is good for Amazon and iBooks.
CJ makes good points as usual. Luckily, I can have my cake and eat it too. I'll use (2) as the main image on Amazon and (3) as an alternate cover for kobo
I am also voting for No. 2. I sense a consensus brewing.
