- Alligator Gold, a Cracker Western by jschrade52 was published by Pineapple Press and is now available from Amazon.com

July 2009 Successes
- Annie's novel Fallen, the 2007 Strongest Start Novel Competition Winner is being published by Lyrical Press with a release date of December 31, 2009. She also signed a contract for three other books.
- Rhiannon's World by Rachel Parsons is scheduled to be published by Bewildering Press.
- The Love Thing by Cecil Roebuck has been published and is now for sale on Amazon.
- Stephanie French-Mischo (steph F.) originially titled "Redhead" but now titled "Shelf Life" recieved an Honorable Mention in Glimmer Train’s May 2009 Short Story Award for New Writers. That means it made the top 5% of over a thousand entires.
- Michelle Willms Times are Tough drouble entry, "Amerika", has been accepted for publication and will appear in QUARTERFLASH’s first issue in the fall.
June 2009 Successes
- Nancy Aldersmith's collection of short stories Crocheted Gestures has been published and is now available on Amazon.
- AKUsher's Science Fiction novel Book of Books was published by AKW books.
- Erica Miner’s suspense novel, Murder In The Pit, which was workshopped with Next Big Writer, has been picked up for publication by mid-sized traditional publisher Twilight Times Books. Anticipated publication date is May of 2010.
- "Conditional Surrender" by Wordsmith was published in the literary pages of the Jamaica's Sunday Observer.
- "My Writing Life Story" by DCP62 has been published in Alive Magazine - June/July 2009 issue. This story was written as part of TheNextBigWriter's My Writing Life competition.
- Big Shoes for a Big Girl" (a Rupert adventure) "The Ice Box," :"To the Penny" and "Back of the Bus", all by RLVS will be published by Bewildering Stories. "The Sea Shell" will also be published by Fictionville.
- Jeni Decker’s book Far From Happy was one of the top 100 semi-finalists in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.
- Brosna11 continues to rack up the publishing credits. Writer's Eye Magazine accepted "Haiku for Nora" and Boston Literary accepted a short, as of yet untitled piece of fiction. GreenSilkJournal just accepted "The Altar" for the spring or fall issue. Her painting of Nora is the front page feature on Writer's Eye Magazine this month. A haiku accompanies it. Her poem "Angiogram" was accepted today by Boston Literary for the summer issue. Wolf Moon Journal accepted "Hyperactive Heart Failure" for their next issue.

»Mar '09 : Brosna11 has had a productive couple of months. In February, BostonLiterary accepted her poem "Honeymoon in Maine" and Wolf Moon Journal's Spring Issue will feature her essay and photos on John Townsend's Newport furniture. Her haiku "No Sex for Fat Panda" will be included in Robin Stratton's "Best of Boston" chapbook.

»Dec '06: Daria Stone's poem "Unlocked, Not Free" was chosen as a finalist in Poetry Soup's quarterly contest ending in November.
November 28, 2006 Update
»Nov 28: Mike Davis' Flash Fiction piece, "Stepping Off”, workshopped on TheNextBigWriter has been selected for inclusion in an anthology entitled Love and Sacrifice, a companion paperback to the award winning movie, London Voodoo. The movie and anthology are the work of a UK Film Production company, Zen films. The anthology is slated for publication in paperback early next year and “Stepping Off” will also be recorded as a downloadable MP3, read by Doug Bradley, who played the part of Pinhead in the movie Hellraiser.
»Nov 28: Bewildering Press is publishing a collection of Rhiannon stories, entitled Rhiannon's World, which will be a sort of loosely knit novel, like The Fall and Rise of Rhiannon of New Fairy, and will contain stories published online at www.bewilderingstories.com as well as possibly a new story, "The Great Coffee Blight." Many of the stories were workshopped on TheNextBigWriter.
»Nov 27: Lesley Weston's story "Palmistry", workshopped on TheNextBigWriter, was published by UR Paranormal. Also, "Not in the Yellow Pages" will appear in Issue 1 of GUD: Greatest Uncommon Denominator.
»Nov 26: J. Lawless received notice that her story "Never Too Old" was accepted by Publisher of Cycle Canada when a check arrived in the mail. In addition, her stories "Memories of Sweeter Times" that is posted on this site, has been accepted by The County Connection Magazine and will appear in the December issue. Another short story about (motor)biking in the Peterborough area, has been accepted and will be published in an issue of Canadian Biker in the near future.
»Nov 20: MOUNTIN' MAN by Kirk will be published late November on Ruthie's Club and on January 1, THE CASE OF THE CASHMERE BLONDE begins a four part serialization. Cashmere is posted here as My Last Case.
»Nov 16: All three peices submitted to www.cynicmag.com by Barry Davidson have been published. They list includes: "Being A Drag for Your Future Wife" 10/15/06; "Too Many Choices published as Choices" 11/01/06; "The Quest for the Makeup Bag" 11/15/06.
»Nov 11: Michele Cozzens novel A Line Between Friends, which was workshopped on TheNextBigWriter, was the winner of the McKenna Publishing Group's Fiction Contest and is now available on Amazon.com.
»Nov 12: Several members of TheNextBigWriter have joined together to launch Treehouse Entertainment, a network of video shows that will be broadcast on Youtube.com and via full definition downloads on their website early next year.
»Oct 29: "Pimp My Sneakers," a short story by Gale Martin that was workshopped on TheNextBigWriter in June, earned an Honorable Mention in HumorPress.com's "America's Funniest Humor!" Writing Contest for August/September 2006. It will also appear in an upcoming print edition of "America's Funniest Humor!" published by HumorPress.com.
October 13, 2006 Update
»Oct 12: "Extinction," a short story/short script by John Klawitter that was originally
posted on TheNextBigWriter site, has finished post-production and is currently being submitted to film festivals, starting with Sundance.
Extinction is the story of an ecology-minded schoolteacher who teams up with a desert tortoise in an attempt to save a pristine corner of the Mojave Desert from being developed into condos.

Dalpal's short story "My First Bra" was selected to appear on Nuvein.com in July.
Site member Xxena was invited to read her poetry and discuss what makes her write at KMXT's public radio station broadcast on Thursday, the 4th of May at 6pm Alaska time. They are having a public broadcasting funding drive and asked her to read her poems "Whale Migration" and "Along My Way."
April 19, 2006 Update
"LOVE AT THE WAWA" by Gem has been accepted for the summer issue of the Duck and Herring Company's Pocket Field Guide. The editor in chief said it was, "funny and sexy."
Terry Angelo received two acceptances. The "The Rape of Venus" will be published in Cynic Online Magazine, August issue and "Second Hand Breath" will be published in Neiderngasse and translated into Italian and German.

Rhiannon's short story, posted on theNextBigWriter as "The Day the World Froze," won third place in Contest 2 on www.bewilderingstories.com It was published under the title "A Time Line Regression," and may see print in their Time Travel Anthology.
Hannah Holborn received a $3,000 grant from Canada Council for the Arts- Grants to Professional Writers-Creative Writing to help finish her collection of short stories.
