Forgotten Dreams

This is a poem I wrote about my adopted brother, Robert, who died of leukemia in 2003 at the age of 26. It's still below the surface. Hard to explain his pain and redemption. He was a street kid my family took in who finally got off serious drugs and tried to help other kids to also, in his final years. He got engaged to a great woman and then 6 months later was dead...they had only diagnosed less than a month before he was gone. He was in another state. I never got to say goodbye.
