Lives Forever Changed

The story of how a family was changed completely with the purchase of a new car in 1923. (I submitted this last year, and thanks to those of you who offered comments for improvement. I am sending this in to a magazine for a Father's Day anthology and would like to know if there are any more suggestions from anyone as to how it could be improved.
