Mother's Last Good-bye

This is a poem that is from the first chapter of my new/old novel that I am just starting. My prior attempts at poetry have always been aimed at eventually getting it turned into song. Not so with this one. Thus, I am in new teritory. Help!. I would like to make sure this is the best I can make it. So, forgive me if I know nothing about the poetry part of writting (that is why I don't really review it). Please review for all aspects of poetry. Note: I cannot promise return reviews on a reciprication basis due to a reading/review basis.
