The Ghost of the Hotel Orton

Written by: skipm624

A reporter, recently relocated from New York to Wilmington, North Carolina, and researching the fact that Willie Mosconi once played pool in a local bar, comes across a ghost story about three patrons who died in a fire at the Hotel Orton in 1949 and reportedly still haunt the bar (now called Orton's) that was in its basement. He discovers, though, that newspaper reports on the fire show no indication of any deaths in the fire and wonders about the validity of the ghost story. Shooting pool at Orton's one night, the reporter is physically approached by the Ghost of the Hotel Orton, who proceeds to tell him the story of what really happened that night, asking the reporter to more or less set the record straight.
