The Scrolls of Kel'Adara

In a land where the four mystic Elements embody the magic of life, death and the realm of the next-life, Keevan just wants to fit in... if he can only stay alive long enough to learn how! This is my first novel and I'm writing it initially for the Young Adult reader. Please let me know if you think it works for that genre; especially the prelude, I'm not sure how well the narrator works here. This is my entry into the Strongest Start Novel competition. Unfortunately, two of the first 3 chapters are also the shortest. I figured a lot will change after I get feedback from the fantastic community here!
