Red Sox Opening Day 2008

I went to the Red Sox opening day at Fenway Park this year and the experience unfolded to me like a long poem. I've tried to capture the experience with this bit of free verse. Any and all comments are welcome. Does the form work or is it too free? Are there too many cliches? Does it even sound like an interesting or special event?
